Former governor to share Alzheimer’s caregiving journey in Rhinelander Sept. 23-24
Rennes Health & Rehab Center–Rhinelander is honored to welcome former Wisconsin Governor and author Martin J. Schreiber for two special presentations of his award-winning book, “My Two Elaines: Learning, Coping and Surviving as an Alzheimer’s Caregiver.”
The event will be Tuesday, Sept. 23, from 6 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday, Sept. 24, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Rennes Health & Rehab Center-Rhinelander, 1970 Navajo Street.
In “My Two Elaines,” Schreiber shares the deeply personals story of his late wife Elaine’s Alzheimer’s journey, offering valuable insight, compassion, and encouragement for caregivers. With warmth, humor, and honesty, he addresses the realities of caregiving and emphasizes how love endures through the challenges of memory loss.
“As two-thirds of those with Alzheimer’s are women, men often find themselves thrust into an unexpected role as caregivers,” said Schreiber. “Through my journey, I hope to give guidance, support, and hope to others walking this difficult path.”
Admission is free, with seating limited to 100 guests per event. Light refreshments will be served, and books will be available for purchase.
