Barbara Busch Scheeler (Clancy)
Barbara Busch Scheeler (Clancy), 86, of Rhinelander, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at the Friendly Village Nursing Home, in Rhinelander, surrounded by her loving family.
Barb was born in Rhinelander to Marianna and Gilbert Busch. She graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1957 and went on to attend the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where she met her first husband, Thomas Clancy. Together, they returned to Rhinelander, raised two children, and owned and operated Clancy’s Clothing. Barb later pursued a career in education as a mathematics teacher at Rhinelander High School.
In later years, she and her second husband, Thomas Scheeler, enjoyed traveling together in their RV. Barb cherished time spent with her family and friends, working on Sudoku puzzles, reading, and being outdoors.
Barb is survived by her children, Patrick (Kate) Clancy and Terri (Worden) Thompson; grandchildren, Caden Thompson and Samantha (Bradley) Flannery; and great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Kyler Flannery. She is also survived by her sister, Sandy Busch Solberg; her sister-in-law, Janice Scheeler; special friend, Robin Schillings; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marianna and Gilbert Busch; her brother, Robert Busch, and his wife, Marsha; her husband, Thomas Scheeler; and her former husband, Thomas Clancy.
A private family interment will take place at the Northland Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Wild Instincts, an organization that was especially close to Barb’s heart.
