Harshaw 100 Sport & Trap Shoot on Sept. 6
The Harshaw 100 Sport & Trap Shoot is Sept. 6 at the Harshaw Sports Club, 10047 Rocky Run Road.
The registration is $70 to shoot 50 trap and 50 sporting clays. Currently, we have 37 sponsorships for any veteran who wants to shoot free of charge. This will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. All of the local high school trap teams have been invited in hopes of getting younger shooters and veterans to mingle. Our goal is to have 50 veteran shooters and 50 civilian shooters.
You may preregister at scorechaser.com or in person on the day of the event. Registration starts at 7 a.m. With the shoot starting at 8 a.m. There will be food for purchase, a 50/50 raffle, three “experience” raffles.
We currently have 37 sponsorships for veterans to shoot for free, and only five of the spots have been taken so far. We would love to see all sponsorships used.
There will be cash prizes for the top three winners in the adult category and the top three in the under-18 category, as well as a one-rifle/shotgun wall storage rack. First place $350; second place $250; third place $150.
There will be food available for purchase.
Raffles include three different “experience” packages. Main items of each are a doe hunt, Pontoon Rental, and two e-bike rentals. Other items the baskets will include food gift certificates, bowling, mini-golf, sweet treats, water park certificates, and much more. The idea is to create a weekend getaway for the winners.
Two guns are being raffled, one 12-gauge shotgun, and one .22 pistol.
There will also be a wooden chainsaw carving up for raffle.
Shooting sequence will be given the morning of the shoot.
This event is being held to raise funds for Northwoods Veterans Homestead’s capital campaign to build a community center and 16 tiny homes for homeless veterans. The homes are considered to be transitional living as each resident work on their individual care plan to become self-sufficient again in a respectable manner.
