Meyer pleads guilty to two counts of possession of child pornography
A 31 year-old Gleason man will be sentenced in January in Oneida County court after pleading guilty on Oct. 10 to two counts of possession of child pornography, class D felonies, and one count of incest with a child, a class C felony.
Two other class C felonies against Caleb Meyer, child sexual exploitation and trafficking of a child, were dismissed by judge Mary Sowinski last week during what was originally scheduled as a pre-trial conference.
However, Meyer’s attorney, Joseph Kaupie, submitted a plea agreement containing Meyer’s pleas.
Under terms of that agreement, Sowinski not only found Meyer guilty of the two counts of possession of child pornography as well as the incest with a child charge but she dismissed a felony bail jumping charge against Meyer.
She also ruled that the $1 million bond imposed on Meyer on Oct. 7 for the bail jumping charge be revoked and $100,000 in cash that had been put up for bond by members of Meyer’s family be returned.
There was a total of $103,000 in cash bond and Sowinski ordered $3,000 withheld by the court to cover its costs related to the Meyer cases.
Each of the class D felonies Meyer pled guilty to carries a maximum sentence of 25 years with a fine up to $100,000, or both.
He faces up to 40 years in prison or a fine of up to $100,000 or both for the class C incest felony.
Meyer is to be sentenced on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026, at 10 a.m.
