YMCA of the Northwoods receives bike repair station
The YMCA of the Northwoods has recently been chosen to receive a new bike repair station, a gift made possible through the generosity of the Oneida County Biking and Walking Trails Council (OCBWTC). This contribution is the result of combined efforts between Matt Steingraber, leadership advancement director at the YMCA, and Jackie Cody, president of the OCBWTC.
The bike repair station has been installed to benefit both YMCA members and cyclists traveling along the Highway 17 bypass. It provides easy access to essential tools and resources designed to assist riders in maintaining their bicycles. By offering these services, the station supports increased use of bicycles for both transportation and recreation throughout the community.
Jackie Cody, president of the OCBWTC, shared that this is the fourth bike repair station installed by the council within the city, bringing the total number of stations in Oneida County to eight. She expressed satisfaction in utilizing donations to promote a more bike-friendly environment in the county. Cody looks forward to continued development of biking infrastructure in both the city and surrounding areas, highlighting that increased awareness of biking brings benefits to local businesses and supports the overall health of residents.
