Sherry Marlene Moritz, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025.
Born on January 3, 1954, in Kenosha, Sherry was the daughter of Stephan and Colleen Sasanas. After their untimely passing, she was lovingly raised by her grandparents, Bernice and Adam Repinsky.
On October 17, 1972, Sherry married Dennis Moritz of Rhinelander, with whom she shared a life full of love, laughter, and devotion until his passing.
Sherry’s heart was as generous as it was gentle. She dedicated over 30 years to the Rhinelander School District, working with mentally handicapped individuals and becoming a trusted source of comfort and encouragement — both in the classroom and beyond. Her compassion extended into her second career at Walmart, where she spent more than 20 years forming lasting friendships and offering support to colleagues and customers alike.
Though she often placed the needs of others before her own, Sherry found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved reading, crafting, watching PBS, going to the movies, and spending cherished time with her children, grandchildren, and her beloved dogs.
Sherry was deeply loved by her family, friends, and community — often more than she realized. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched with her warmth, generosity, and unwavering care.
She is survived by her daughter Nicole (Eric) Wellnitz, her son Chad (Megan) Moritz, and her grandchildren Kendall and Jackson. She was preceded in death by her husband Dennis.
Visitation for Sherry will be held on Monday, Oct. 20, from 10 a.m. to noon, with memorial services following at noon, all at the Carlson Funeral Home. Reverend Karl Schultz will be officiating.
