Rhinelander Rotary helps make a splash with donation to Kiwanis splash pad project
The Rhinelander Rotary Club is helping bring more fun to Hodag Park by donating proceeds from its inaugural Citywide Scavenger Hunt on Aug. 29 to the Kiwanis splash pad project. The event was created to support the community project, which will provide a free and accessible water play area for families to enjoy for years to come.
While the inaugural scavenger hunt saw a modest turnout, attendees enjoyed the experience and the rotary hopes that word-of-mouth will grow participation for the second annual Scavenger Hunt planned for July 2026.
“Rotary’s mission has always been to serve the community, and supporting the splash pad is a wonderful way to do that,” said David Holperin, Rhinelander Rotary president. “We’re proud that Rotary can help make a difference in creating a space where local families can gather, play and make memories.”
The Kiwanis Club expressed its gratitude for the support.
“Partnerships like this are what make projects like the Hodag Park Splash Pad possible,” said Stephanie Dahlquist, Rhinelander Kiwanis board member. “We’re thankful to the Rotary Club for their generosity and for believing in the importance of family-friendly spaces in our community.”
The Rotary and Kiwanis service clubs occasionally team up to support local projects and special events, and the splash pad is a perfect example of collaboration can create lasting community impacts.
Kiwanis invites the community to join in supporting the playground project through donations, partnerships and volunteer efforts. Community members can support the splash pad and playground project by donating online at www.zeffy.com/en-US/donation-form/hodag-park-playground-and-splash-pad-project or visiting the Kiwanis Facebook page by searching for Rhinelander Kiwanis Foundation.
