Camp George, a grief support camp for children, to be held Oct. 25
The School District of Rhinelander’s Community Education Program is proud to host the third annual Camp George, a one-day grief support camp designed for children across the Northwoods who have experienced loss.
Open to students in Kindergarten through eighth grade, Camp George offers a safe, compassionate space to process grief related to the loss of a loved one, pet, or family changes such as divorce.
Children will engage in healing activities such as crafting personalized t-shirts, breaking flower pots (a symbolic and therapeutic exercise), and exploring nature-based healing techniques — plus much more.
The date of Camp George is Oct. 25, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lunch is included. Location is the Cedric A. Vig Outdoor Classroom and Rhinelander High School counselor Lexi Allen is the facilitator. There is no cost for those who attend. All students grades K-8 are welcome — it’s not limited to Rhinelander residents, anyone from anywhere can attend.
Pre-registration is required. To register, please visit the Community Education Classes section of the School District of Rhinelander website: www.rhinelander.k12.wi.us/community/community-education-classes.cfm; scroll down to the “Camp George” section and complete the Google form.
