DOT holding public involvement meeting for U.S. 51 in Oneida County
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT) is holding a public involvement meeting to discuss proposed improvements for U.S. Highway 51, at the Highway K and Swamp Lake Road intersection in Oneida County.
The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 14, beginning at 5 p.m., at the Northwoods Community Elementary School, 9086 Hwy. K, in Harshaw. A brief presentation is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. with the remainder of the meeting to follow an open-house format.
The objective of the meeting is to provide an update to the proposed improvements and anticipated construction impacts. The proposed improvements include reconstructing the intersection as a single-lane roundabout to reduce the number of severe crashes at the intersection and maintain traffic operations.
Intersection improvements are currently scheduled for construction in 2027.
