Girls’ swim: Rhinelander 4th/14, Fond du Lac Invite

The Rhinelander High School girls’ swim team recorded 13 top-10 finishes and took fourth in the 14-team Fond du Lac Invite on Saturday.

Rhinelander had a trio of runner-up finishes in the meet. Emma Houg took second in the 100-yard backstroke. The Hodags were also second in the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays. Kiley Pooch, Ella Heck, Mille Gruett and Riley Mickevicius swam for the Hodags in the medley and Heck, Gruett, Houg and Vivian Lamers were the quartet in the 200 free relay.

Lamers finished third in both the 50 and 100 freestyle, Heck was third in the 100 breaststroke and the Hodags were this in the 400 freestyle relay with Pooch, Mickevicius, Houg and Lamers.

Rhinelander is back in action Thursday at Mosinee.
