Teen Court sessions at the Oneida County Courthouse provide youth charged with their first misdemeanor offense an alternative to citations or other non‑restorative measures, according to a press release.

The program, coordinated through UW‑Extension, allows defendants to appear before a jury of their peers. Students from Rhinelander High School, including Rory Young, participate in the process, which emphasizes accountability, shared understanding of the offense and strategies to prevent repeat violations.

Teen Court is designed to strengthen community connections and promote positive youth development. More information is available at oneida.extension.wisc.edu/positive-youth-development/teencourt.
