Referendum construction update to school district board shows good progress

By BECKIE GASKILL

On Monday, Nov. 17, the Rhinelander School Board received a construction update. It was reported that the middle school had occupancy of the office on the previous Friday and were still organizing the office and getting used to the buzzer system on the secured entry door.

The technology education portion of the work was moving along as well with occupancy expected by mid-December.

From the budget side, district director of business services Bob Thom reported just over $15 million had been spent as of Nov. 3, with another $2.5 million yet to be invoiced. This put the budget past the halfway point. Most of the outside construction had been completed. With one more push for work next summer, all construction should be completed.
