Northern Lights Indivisible donates $2,500 to RAFP
Northern Lights Indivisible (NLI) announced a donation of $2,500 to the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry (RAFP), fulfilling the successful goal of its recent “Plates Go Empty Today” fundraiser.
According to an NLI press release, the donation, formally presented Nov. 18, is designated to help the pantry meet increased demand and sustain its essential services for families and individuals facing food insecurity in the Rhinelander community.
The “Plates Go Empty Today” event, held earlier this month, encouraged community members to reflect on the challenges of hunger while raising funds dedicated to local relief efforts. The outstanding generosity of the donors resulted in the final amount of $2,500.
“The need in our area is constant, and Northern Lights Indivisible is committed to supporting local organizations that provide vital resources,” said Pat O’Grady, a representative for Northern Lights Indivisible. “We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed to ‘Plates Go Empty Today.’ This check is a direct representation of our community’s compassion and commitment to ensuring our neighbors do not go hungry.”
The Rhinelander Area Food Pantry, located at 627 Coon St., serves as a critical resource for local residents. The $2,500 donation comes at a crucial time leading into the colder months and the upcoming holiday season, when financial strain and demand for pantry services typically increase.
