RHS Sports recap: Thursday, Nov. 20
Girls’ basketball: Rhinelander 74, Crandon 15
The Rhinelander High School girls’ basketball team dominated its season opener, with three players in double figures, as they defeated Crandon 74-15 at the Jim Miazga Community Gymnasium.
Rhinelander scored the first 13 points of the game, held a 34-2 lead less than 10 minutes into the contest and rolled to a 46-9 lead at the break.
Aubryn Clark scored a game-high 25 points while her freshman sister, Teagan Clark, scored 19 in her varsity debut. Vivian Lamers added 13 points and eight rebounds for the Hodags, who shot 45% from the field (27 of 60).
Malia Stamper had five points to lead Crandon. The Cardinals shot under 16% from the field (5 of 34) and committed 31 turnovers.
Rhinelander (1-0, 0-0 Great Northern) will take on Eau Claire Regis Friday, Nov. 28 as part of the Tom Kislow Memorial Tournament in Medford.
