Wanda Ruth Harris

Wanda Ruth Harris, 93, of Rhinelander, died on May 14, 2025, at her home. She was born on May 4, 1932 in Rhinelander, the daughter of Frederick and Hazel (Towne) Gritzmacher. She lived in Milwaukee as a child and then returned to Rhinelander where she graduated from the Rhinelander High School.

Wanda married Eugene Harris on October 28, 1950, in Rhinelander, and he preceded her in death on July 19, 1996. God blessed them with nearly 46 years of marriage. They had moved to Menomonee Falls for a couple of years and then returned to Rhinelander where she has lived since.

Wanda enjoyed camping, tending to her flowers and taking care of her home. She was a longtime member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. She loved her family and her church family. They were the most important parts of her life. She was the “Other Mother” to all her nieces and nephews.

Wanda is survived by her sister Sandy Coleman, her nephews Robert (Janet) Dall and David Dall, other family and friends. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her sister Lois Dall and her brothers Willis and Butch Gritzmacher.

Visitation for Wanda will be held on Tuesday, May 20, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. with funeral services following at 11 a.m., all at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.
