Rhinelander Special Olympians compete in track regionals

Rhinelander Special Olympics 2-05 competed at the Wisconsin  Special Olympics regional track and field meet in Colby Saturday, May 10. The competition, featuring Region 2 and 3, hosted 278 athletes.

Results for Rhinelander athletes were as follows:

Jonathan Ankrom — 4th place, softball throw; 5th place, standing long jump; 7th place, 100-meter run. 

Ashley Mathy — 4th place, 100-meter run; 4th place, softball throw; 7th place 200-meter run.

Daray Hawes — 3rd place, softball throw; 5th place, standing long jump; 6th place 100-meter run.

Daniel Strutz — 1st place, 1500-meter run; 2nd place, 100-meter run; 3rd place, running long jump. 

Darrick Nelson — 2nd place, 100-meter run; 4th place, mini-javelin; 6th place, 200-meter run.

Charles Moritz — 2nd place, mini-javelin; 4th place, running long jump; 6th place, 100-meter run.
