New Cassian town board sends wake boat ordinance draft to the DNR
It took the new Cassian town board not even two minutes at Monday’s meeting to approve sending a draft of an enhanced wake ordinance to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) for review.
“It’s been kicked around awhile,” Ed Phebus, the new town chairman, said. “So, I kind of just want to have the board vote on it to proceed with the ordinance and get it to the DNR so they can start their review process and we can carry on from there.”
The possibility of an enhanced wake ordinance for Cassian was brought to the previous town board in October, 2024, and in February, the town board voted to send the draft to town attorney Greg Harrold for his review.
The three-member Cassian town board changed with the April 1 election as former town chair Patty Francoeur chose not to run for re-election as did town supervisors Dave Priegnitz and John Schaub.
