The Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce proudly announces the graduation of the 14th class of Leadership Oneida County. Thirteen new graduates of the program were recognized in a ceremony at Nicolet College on Thursday, May 8. “Leadership Oneida County is more than just a program; it’s a catalyst for positive change in our community,” said Lauren Sackett, CEO of the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce. “By bringing together individuals from various sectors, we foster a network of engaged citizens who are equipped to make meaningful contributions to Oneida County’s future.”

In addition to the graduating class, the Leadership Oneida County program announced two award winners. The Outstanding Alumni award recognizes Leadership Oneida County alumni who are continuing to develop their leadership presence in the county and who have used their experiences in the program to further their service to the county. The 2025 Outstanding Alumni was awarded to 2022 graduate Tommy Wartman.

The Mel Davidson Leadership award recognizes any person in Oneida County that shows outstanding leadership and service within the county — nominees do not necessarily have to have previous history with the Leadership Oneida County program. The 2025 Mel Davidson Leadership Award was awarded to Don Theisen.

Leadership Oneida County is a nine-month program that cultivates and prepares emerging leaders in Oneida County. Leadership Oneida County creates an awareness of services and organizations within the county, and reinforces an individual’s call to civic responsibility and citizen involvement.
