Northland Pines district administrator submits retirement resignation
On Tuesday, Northland Pines board of education president Jennifer Payne issued a press release saying district administrator Scott Foster submitted his retirement resignation with an effective day of June 30, 2026.
“At the April 28, 2025, Board of Education meeting, the Board accepted Foster’s retirement resignation,” the press release says. “The 2025-2026 school year will be DA Foster’s 8th year as the District Administrator and his 28th year overall in the district. Prior to being the District Administrator, Foster was a Tech Ed teacher for 6 years, then held multiple administrative roles for the next 12 years, including Principal (at multiple schools in the district), Director of Technology and Curriculum Director.”
Foster indicated in his letter to the board he plans to make the most of his time left at Northland Pines.
“I will not be wishing my time away over the next 14 or so months, quite frankly just the opposite,” he said. “I will be focused on what we can get done in that time. I want to leave with the same mindset since the day I started: ‘How can we get a little better today than we were the day before?’”
The board of education thanks Foster, according to the press release, “for dedicating himself to continuously improving Northland Pines School District for students and staff over his career at Pines.”
“His time, efforts, work and passion for education has been a catalyst that has shaped Northland Pines into ‘schools of choice’ for many students and staff,” the press release says. “The Board is looking forward to their ongoing work with DA Foster over the next 14 months as he finishes his career strong at Pines.”
As far as replacing Foster, the board, the press release says, “sincerely appreciates” him allowing enough time “to conduct a thorough and thoughtful process.”
“The first step in the process to determine DA Foster’s replacement will begin at the Board of Education’s Regular Board Meeting to be held on May 19, 2025, in open session; that meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. in the Middle and High School Large Group Instruction Room,” the press release says. “The Board looks forward to finding our next leader to help move the Northland Pines School District Forward. GO EAGLES!”
