Hunter, boater and ATV safety courses in June
The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office and the School District of Rhinelander Community Education Program are co-sponsoring Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) certified hunter, boater, and ATV safety courses.
Hunter safety dates and times: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., June 9-12 (participant is expected to attend all dates).
Boater safety dates and times: 2 to 6 p.m., June 9-10 (participant is expected to attend both dates).
ATV safety dates and times: 2 to 5 p.m., June 11-12 (participant is expected to attend both dates).
All classes are at the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, 2000 East Winnebago Street in Rhinelander.
Course objectives include: reduce the potential for accidents, injuries, and fatalities; reduce the potential for conflict between participants, landowners, and other resource users; promote safe, responsible and ethical use of the environment and our resources.
Ages 12 and older is the target age, but all ages are welcome. The instructor will be Michael Baran from the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office. The fee for the class is $10 per person and should be paid with cash or check at the first class.
Students are required to obtain a DNR customer ID number for this class. If the student does not already have one, please contact the DNR at 1-888-936-7463 to obtain this number prior to registering.
Pre-registration is required and space is limited. Registration is online at the ‘Community Education Classes’ section of the School District of Rhinelander website at https://www.rhinelander.k12.wi.us/community/community-education-classes.cfm.
