Frank A Berwig, 62, of Rhinelander, died on May 3, 2025, in Rhinelander. He was born on January 21, 1963, in Fond du Lac, the son of William and Geraldine (DeNell) Berwig. He graduated from the Ripon High School and eventually moved to the Rhinelander area in the late 1990’s where he has lived since. He was employed by Harley Davidson in Tomahawk until his retirement in August of 2024. He married the former Rebecca “Becky” Huberty on November 21, 1997 in Rhinelander and they were blessed with 28 years together.
Frank loved being outdoors especially if it was for musky fishing. He was an artist at heart who enjoyed carving, painting and photography. He was known for the custom musky baits that he had made throughout the years. He also enjoyed the time spent at the cabin also known as the “Bower’s Nest.”
Frank is survived by his wife Becky, his sons Hunter Berwig and William “Billy” Berwig, his sisters Bonnie Allen and Lynn (Kevin) Kavanagh, his brother Robert Berwig, his two sister-in-laws Debbie (Alonzo) Bermea and Dori (Shawn) Engel, his father-in-law Wayne Huberty, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Sue Nowak, his brothers Craig Berwig and William “Boog” Berwig and his mother-in-law Judy Huberty.
Visitation for Frank will be held on Wednesday, May 21, from 10 a.m. to noon, with memorial services following at noon, all at the Carlson Funeral Home. Chaplain John Uhlarik will be officiating. A memorial is being established in Frank’s name and in lieu of flowers any memorials may be directed to his family.
