10th Annual Ruck ‘N St. Germain on May 17

The 10th Annual Ruck ‘N St. Germain is being held on Saturday, May 17, starting at Cira’s Red, White & Brew in St. Germain. 

This event began 10 years ago to bring attention to the 22 veteran suicides that happen in our country each day. 

The ruck is a 4.2-mile walk/run which begins at Veterans Park and ends at Cira’s. Check-in begins at Cira’s at 9 a.m., transportation is then provided to Veterans Park, and the ruck ends back at Cira’s. After the ruck, there will be live music, a cookout, basket raffles, and a 50/50 drawing. 

Everyone is welcome to attend whether you ruck, want to purchase tickets for the raffles, or just come for the festivities afterwards. 

The Oneida and Vilas County Veterans Service offices will be there to provide information regarding veterans and surviving spouse VA benefits. 

All proceeds from the ruck will benefit Northwoods Veterans Homestead, a tiny home community under construction in Rhinelander for homeless veterans, as well as other local veterans organizations.
