Oneida County clerk moves to find a replacement for Timmons on the county board
As the Woodruff town board plans for next steps to find a new town chair following the sudden death of Mike Timmons on March 22, Oneida County clerk Tracy Hartman is having to make similar plans.
Timmons, in addition to his town chair duties, was also the Woodruff representative on the Oneida County board.
“Typically, we’ll put an ad in the paper and post on our website that we’re looking for people to apply with the date they would have to submit that by,” Hartman told The Lakeland Times Monday. “Scott Holewinski as the county board chair will determine who he would like to recommend to fill that seat and then it will be approved by the county board at a meeting. That’ll be the process.”
She said it was possible to have a new Woodruff representative in April but she wasn’t banking on it as Holewinski had been out of town and there hadn’t been much of an opportunity to discuss the matter with him.
Hartman did say she anticipated the vacant county supervisor position to be posted “very soon.”
“I think May would be realistic,” she said of possibly having the naming of a new county supervisor to represent Woodruff on the county board’s agenda. “April would be pushing it. A lot of it depends on the interest.”
