Wabeno Area players begin 2025 theater season with uproarious comedy April 11-13
What do four nuns, a priest, two reporters (impersonating a nun, a priest, a Cardinal), a clueless gardener (also impersonating a priest) have in common? The answer is lots of laughs and confusion in the Wabeno Area Players’ production of “Drinking Habits” by Tom Smith. Shows are Friday, April 11, at 7 p.m., Saturday, April 12, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 13, at 2 p.m.
“Drinking Habits” tells the story of two nuns, at the convent of Sisters of Perpetual Sewing, who have been secretly making wine to keep the convent doors open. Their operation is threatened when two reporters, posing as a nun and a priest, arrive in search of a story. Chaos ensues as accusations and mistaken identities run wild in this laugh-out-loud farce. Sprinkle in some additional nuns, a desperate Mother Superior, some romance and the result is a hilarious theater experience!
This Wabeno Area Players’ production will be presented at the Nancy Volk Auditorium located in Wabeno High School, 4325 Branch Street.
This play is appropriate for all ages. Tickets are $15 for Adults and $10 for Students. Tickets can be purchased online at www.wabenoareaplayers.org and will also be available one hour before each performance. For more information, call 715-473-5466 or 715-889-0306.
