Track: RHS boys 2nd/8, girls 2nd/8, Ashland Indoor
Both the RHS boys’ and girls’ track teams finished second Tuesday in the eight-team Oredocker Large School Indoor Invitational in Ashland.
The Hodag boys won three events on the night and had a 1-2-4 finish in the shot put with seniors Bo Stott, David Houg and Reid Schultz. Truman Lamers added a win in the high jump while Avrom Barr won the 3200 meters and was second in the 1600 meters.
The Hodag girls did not win any events, but the school record in the pole vault fell for the second straight meet. Sophomore Macy Myers cleared 9 feet, 6 inches to take the runner-up spot and eclipse Emeline Hintz’s mark of 9-3 set just five days earlier. Hintz took fourth in the event with a height of 9-0. Aila Bergman was the runner-up for Rhinelander in both the 60- and 200-meter hurdles and Rhinelander took second in the 4x800 with the team of Brynn Teter, Gretchen Fiebke, Kara Monk and Myers.
Rhinelander returns to action next Thursday at the GNC Indoor Invite in Eagle River.
