Crystal Rose Gamez

Gamez
Gamez

Crystal Rose Gamez was born on October 26, 1980, and sadly passed away at her loving home with her wife and family on March 15, 2025.

This obituary will probably not read the same way that many do. It needs to be more personal than most. There are so many people to mention, but I don’t have enough time to include everyone’s personal name. But she would want every single person who she loved to know that they are important.

Crystal loved her family the most. She always wanted to stay close to home and be available for anyone who needed her, which was pretty much all of the time. Crystal had degrees from psychology to surgical technician to owning her own business with her best friend and sister, Brenda. But we were always the most important.

Her beautiful home in McNaughton was her favorite place to be. She always wanted to make sure everyone in the family always felt like they had somewhere to call home. McNaughton started with her late grandfather and has been passed on to generations of family. This legacy will never be broken. Crystal built us strong!

She was a lover of all things. She enjoyed camping, swimming, kayaking, her dogs, music concerts, campfires, and Red Stag. But most of all Crystal loved spending time with her family.

She will be dearly missed by her loving wife, Terrell Travis, much loved mother, Angela M. Gamez, late father, Charles R. Gorden, sisters, Brenda Gorden, Jennifer Gamez, Sabrina Buchanan, brothers, Jermaine McMackiel, Maurice Williams, Charles W. Gorden, and Andrew Gamez. Her children, Cameron Kasmerek, Alyza Travis, Austin Cole, and Rylee Travis. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, whom she lived for along with two grandbabies whom she loved more than anything.

Crystal had so many plans for her life. She loved life and was known to be a free spirit. She was the most honest, caring and loving person. If you wanted advice, she would give it to you straight. She never sugar coated anything and was known to say, “She is the Law!”

She loved Black History and had plans to go walk Selma in April of this year with her wife and sister, Brenda. Crystal also really loved Hodag Country Fest. She shared so many memories there with her family and friends. For many years now, Crystal has worn her grandfather’s jean bibs to Country Fest. She loved baseball, especially the Brewers with Prince Fielder being her all-time favorite. She was known for her amazing outfits and always a matching Brewers hat.

We all have so many things to remember her by. I want every family member and friend reading this obituary to know they were important to her no matter how much time has passed.

Crystals love was pure and kind and the most genuine love anyone of us will ever feel. Cherish every memory and moment you spent with Crystal.

As her wife I am writing this and want to make sure I’ve said everything right. I want to make Crystal Gamez proud and be remembered as she should be.
