Patrick W. O’Brien

Patrick W. O’Brien, age 77, of Rhinelander, died on March 7, 2025, in Manitowish Waters, He was born on April 15, 1947, in Rhinelander, the son of Wayne and Marjorie (Elliott) O’Brien. He attended schools in Rhinelander graduating from the Rhinelander High School in 1966. He then served in the U.S. Army. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Rhinelander and went to work for Trueflight in Manitowish Waters. He was with them until the time of his death.

He married the former Linda Krout on June 5, 1993, and she preceded him in death on May 17, 2018.

Pat was the ultimate tinkerer who had many interests. He had his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying. He was also accomplished at a number of instruments including the Accordion.

Pat is survived by his daughter Iris (Matthew) Dodge, his grandchildren Autumn and Maverick, his sisters Marie Oman, Alice Saulters, Theresa Smith and Nancy (Rick) King, his brothers Robert O’Brien and Daniel (Melissa) O’Brien, nieces, nephews, his stepchildren, other family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Linda, and his sisters Kathy O’Brien and Joan McSwain.

Graveside services and military honors will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. at the Enterprise Cemetery in Enterprise. Father Chris Kemp will be officiating. Interment will be in the Enterprise Cemetery. The Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414) is serving the O’Brien family.
