Robert “Bob” T. Summers, 91, of Rhinelander, passed away peacefully at home, with his family at his side on Saturday evening, June 21, 2025.
Bob was born in Rhinelander on July 30, 1933, to John and Agnes (Poskie) Summers.
He was drafted into the United States Army in 1953, proudly serving his country during the Korean War. Bob was stationed in Japan where he was a parts/motor pool parts clerk. He was discharged in 1955 and returned to Rhinelander. He was employed at the paper mill first as a Mason and later as a Paper Tester. He retired in 1995. On November 28, 1959, Bob was united in marriage to Patricia L. Paszak at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The couple celebrated over 65 years of togetherness in 2024.
Bob was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Parish.
He enjoyed bowling and was in various men’s bowling leagues and bowled with Pat in couple’s leagues. He also enjoyed hunting, hiking, fishing, ice fishing, traveling, especially to Hawaii and Crescent City, California, and was known for being an avid reader. Bob loved to look at waterfalls, the beauty of Lake Superior, the Porcupine Mountains and lighthouses.
He will be dearly missed by his wife, Patricia, four children, Annette (Dennis) Dalka of Rhinelander, Bob Summers Jr. of Tomahawk, Bonnie (George) Crabtree of Rhinelander, and Carrie (Robert) Hubbard of Rhinelander, four grandchildren, Christopher Hubbard, Stephanie Hubbard, Nicholas (Anna) Dalka, and Valerie Dalka. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Aaron Dalka, and by two brothers and two sisters.
The visitation for Bob will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church located at 125 E. King Street, Rhinelander from 9 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. Memorial Mass. Fr. Chris Kemp will officiate.
Immediately following the Mass there will be a procession to Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Cemetery for the Committal Service. Military honors will be conducted by the Northwood’s Honor Guard and two representatives from the United States Army.
