Gabriel M Wallmow, age 20, of Rhinelander, died on June 20, 2025, at the Aspirus Wausau Hospital, with his loving family at his side. He was born on April 4, 2005 in Beloit, Wisconsin, the son of Matthew and Michelle (Prell) Wallmow.
Gabe was 20 years old, with an old soul and a generous heart. He was a mechanic who found joy in hard work, greasy hands, and the thrill of bringing things back to life — especially his 1986 Corvette, which he was proudly restoring. He lit up when talking about his car projects, laughed with a giddy spark, and never hesitated to help someone — friend, family, or stranger — especially if it meant talking cars or lending a hand.
Gabe loved music, deep conversations, his fiancee Gabbie, and spending time with the people he cared about. He found peace outdoors — around campfires, out hunting, or on the water. Those quiet, simple moments meant as much to him as the loud ones under the hood of a car.
He gave fully in life, and in the end, he continues to give — donating his organs so that others can live.
He was kind, hardworking, and full of a love for life. We will miss him beyond measure, but we are endlessly proud of who he was and the lives he will continue to touch.
Gabe is survived by his parents Matthew and Michelle, his sister Jenna Wallmow, his brothers Chasin and Andrew Wallmow, his fiancee Gabbie Secora, his maternal grandparents Carol and Kevin McCurdy, his paternal grandparents Diana and Francis Everson, his paternal grandfather Richard Wallmow, many aunts, uncles and cousins, other family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his brother Gavin and his maternal grandfather Randy Prell.
A celebration of Gabe’s life will be held at the Rosewood Barn in Gleason on Sunday, July 6, 2025, beginning at noon. You may leave your private condolences for the Wallmow family at www.carlsonfh.com. The Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414) is serving the Wallmow family.
