The Friends of Town Line Lake Park announces John G Beckman Memorial Endowment Fund
The Friends of Town Line Lake Park, (FTLLP) a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose purpose is to maintain and improve historic Town Line Lake Park in Oneida County recently announced they have opened the John G Beckman Memorial Endowment Fund to help sustain the group’s work.
Interest on the fund will be used to support projects that enhance the park, attract more users to the park and provide operating costs to help maintain the park and sustain the FTLLP organization.
The fund was started with memorial donations made to FTLLP in the name of John G Beckman. Mr. Beckman lived with his wife and children at his childhood home on Town Line Lake until his passing in January of 2025. He was an integral part of all the ‘heavy lifting’ projects completed by the FTLLP. Beckman’s wife, Tracy, is the secretary for the group and with board agreement, asked to use her husband’s memorial funds to open the endowment.
“John would love knowing that there is a fund available to help sustain the park for public use now and into the future. On his behalf, I’d like to thank all those that donated. We will honor his memory by making sure the park and lake he loved are protected and well taken care of,” she said.
In addition to the memorial donations, the endowment is also funded with a $5,000 donation from former Hodags, Ron and Elsie Gaber. The Gabers have been staunch supporters of the group, also donating the ‘Peace Bench’ overlooking the lake.
Those wishing to donate to the fund should email to [email protected] and write “Endowment” in the subject line. All donations are tax deductible.
