Lewis “Oscar” Leavitt

Lewis “Oscar” Leavitt, 85, a resident of Stella, passed away at his home on Tuesday June 10, 2025. Oscar was born on April 26, 1940 in Rhinelander, to Lewis and Emily Leavitt. He married his wife, Diane (née Scholtes), in Monico, in 1969. Oscar worked for most of his life as a truck driver. He also worked for the Rhinelander Police Department for a few years. He served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. Oscar was a member of the Teamsters Union.

Oscar was preceded in death by his parents: Lewis and Emilly Leavitt; sisters: Gail Hulce and Darlene Leavitt; nephew: Eric Norton. 

He is survived by his wife: Diane Leavitt of Stella; daughters: Brenda Bleimehl of Green Bay, and Amy (Kevin) McFadden of Wausau; son: Kevin Leavitt of Rhinelander; sisters: Maxine Belongia of Rhinelander and Eunice (Omer) Norton of Rhinelander; grandchildren: Geoffrey Leavitt, Aubree Dellenbach, Joshua McFadden, Matt McFadden, Hailey Bleimehl, Jakob Bleimehl, and Myles Leavitt; and great-grandchildren: Ava Pritchard and Dominic Pritchard. 

A celebration of life will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday June 21, at the Stella Town Hall in Stella.
