Ruth Ann Oettinger

Ruth Ann Oettinger, 71, of Eagle River, died on May 30, 2025, in Eagle River. She was born on October 29, 1953, in Rhinelander, the daughter of Vern and Catherine (Alexander) Hagen. She attended schools in Rhinelander graduating from the Rhinelander High School in 1973. She lived in Rhinelander until moving to Eagle River in 1996 where she has lived since.

Ruth married Eugene “Mike” Oettinger on January 13, 1973, in Rhinelander and they were blessed with over 52 years of marriage.

Ruth enjoyed the nature and wildlife of the Northwoods. She also enjoyed the arts and drawing. More than anything she cherished taking care of her family especially her kids and grandkids. She will be missed by her family and friends.

Ruth is survived by her husband Mike, her daughters Melissa and Rebecca Oettinger, her sons Shane Oettinger and Erik (Tiffany) Oettinger, her seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, her sisters Mary (Robert) Ohlsson, Patsy (Roger) Kuczmarski and Cathy Hagen, her brother Thomas Hagen, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her two sisters and her two brothers.
