Rhinelander High School seniors receive scholarships totaling more than $300,000
The Rhinelander Area Scholarship Foundation (RASF), along with Rhinelander High School, held its annual scholarship awards ceremony at the Rhinelander High School on Sunday, May 18.
Eighty Rhinelander High School seniors received 203 scholarships from over 100 local donors, totaling $317,450. This includes scholarships presented by RASF as well as other community scholarships.
The Rhinelander Area Scholarship Foundation was established in 1991. The volunteer board facilitates hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships to graduating Rhinelander High School seniors annually. They are a 501(c)(3), non-profit charitable organization with a volunteer board. The scholarship award ceremony is held annually in May.
The scholarship money is provided from both the Rhinelander Area Scholarship Foundation itself and the generous giving of over 100 local donors.
RASF’s mission is to provide both academic inspiration and financial aid to students planning higher education beyond the high school level to help them achieve their education goals.
RASF manages a portfolio of more than a million dollars to give to graduating seniors. Local family memorials, class reunions and businesses have generously contributed to help send students to school after graduation, some helping finance full ride scholarships. Since 1991, RASF has provided additional financial awards to graduating seniors, many of whom may not get scholarship support from other sources. Fundraising is the primary source for these additional funds.
