Thomas M. Clancy, 90, of Rhinelander, passed away on July 12, 2025 at the Rennes Health and Rehab Center. He was born on March 6, 1935 in Milwaukee to William and Katherine (O’Hearn) Clancy. Tom loved life, adventures, conservation, the outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. After graduating high school, he joined the army, where he served as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division. He moved to Rhinelander in the early 1960’s where he started a family and owned Clancy’s Clothing. He later became an instructor at Nicolet Area Technical College where he taught marketing and management for over 20 years. After retirement, he enjoyed sailing and traveling the U.S. before settling in southern Arizona. While there, he enjoyed volunteering at several parks, leading tours, and sharing his passion for birding. The last few years were spent in Rhinelander connecting with family and friends. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family.
Tom is survived by his children, Patrick (Kate) Clancy, Terri (Worden) Thompson, his grandson Cade Thompson, former wives Barbara Busch-Scheeler, Barb Clancy Yoder, Linda Lambert Clancy, his brothers William, Mark and Timothy, many nieces and nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Dennis.
