Ellie was born on October 23, 1952. in Antigo, to Cecil Jenkins and Edith (Glines) Jenkins. She grew up in Enterprise and graduated from Elcho High School in 1970.
After graduation, she moved to Rhinelander.
Ellie was active in local sports leagues. Beginning in the 1970s she played women’s softball and pool league. She expanded her love for competition in the 1990s to include volleyball and horseshoes.
During her spare time and her time after her retirement, Ellie enjoyed pontooning, music, and spending time with family and friends out at “Camp America”.
Ellie left this world for her next adventure on January 16, 2025.
She will be greatly missed and is survived by her partner, Dean Schied; her beloved dog, Yobo; children: Nicole (Joe Coenen) Magnant; Andrew Yungerman; Deana (Mike) Griese; grandchildren: Hayley (Brian Laska) Wahlberg; JJ Bartels; Samantha Bartels; and Jeb Faufau; siblings: Bette Jean Hofman; Barbara Elliott; Allan (Lynda) Jenkins; Sally (Jeff) Towne; David (Becky) Jenkins; and Tina (Vern) Sneller, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Edith Jenkins; an infant brother, Roger Jenkins; brother, James Jenkins, sister, Mary Ellen Jenkins; brother, Cecil Jenkins Jr.; sister, Darlene Reimann; sister, Louise Steffes; brother-in-law, Duane Elliott; and nephew, Jeremy Williams.
A Celebration of Life for Ellie will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Rocky’s Roadhouse, 4293 County P, Rhinelander.
