RHS Sports recap: Saturday, Jan. 4

Gymnastics: Rhinelander 7th/8, Wis. Rapids Invite

The Rhinelander High School gymnastics team took seventh place on Saturday in the eight-team Charlie Martin Invite in Wisconsin Rapids, scoring 113.325 points. 

Freshman Emeline Hintz led the Hodags, taking 18th overall in the individual all-around (29.975). She and Alexis Smith tied for Rhinelander’s best individual finish on the day, as they took 15th on the vault (8.5). 

Smith was 24th in the all-around, Sam Aschenbrenner was 26th and Wendy Fronk finished 28th. 

The Hodags will not compete again until Jan. 21 when they will host Antigo in a GNC Small dual.
