Lawrence F. Wesley

Lawrence F. Wesley, age 81, of Marquette, Mich., formerly of Rhinelander, died on December 26, 2024 at the Jacobetti VA Home. He was born on October 25, 1943, in Rhinelander, the son of Fred and Ethel (Smith) Wesley.

He attended schools in Rhinelander and then enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the 101st Airborne as paratrooper and he made 22 jumps during his time of service. 

Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to Rhinelander and worked for Marlex, Kuczmarski Farms and the Rhinelander Paper Company. He also spent time logging.

Lawrence was a former member of the Calvary Baptist Church and in his spare time he enjoyed fishing. He is survived by his sister Lorraine Wesley and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation was held at the Carlson Funeral Home from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2025.  Graveside services and Honor Detail were held at noon at the Northwoods National Cemetery on Thursday, January 2, 2025, with the Reverend Rod Ankrom officiating.
