RHS Sports recap: Thursday, Jan. 2

Boys’ hockey: Marshfield 8, Rhinelander 0

Marshfield jumped on the Rhinelander High School boys’ hockey team early and often Thursday night as the Hodags fell 8-0 in non-conference play at the Rhinelander Ice Arena.

Joey Cashmer scored off the opening face-off, just 7 seconds into the contest and the Tigers never looked back. Marshfield scored four times in the first and four more in the second.

Shots were 31-16 in favor of the Tigers. Asher Rivord made 23 saves in the loss for Rhinelander. 

The Hodags (1-8-0, 0-2-0-0 Great Northern) travel to D.C. Everest this coming Tuesday.
