The community-centric focus of T.A. Solberg Company, Inc. was given its due recognition this week as Trygve (Trig) and Tula Solberg received the Peter J. Larkin Award for Community Service from the National Grocers Association (NGA) in Las Vegas.

This prestigious award celebrates companies making significant, positive, and measurable impacts in their local communities through volunteerism and charitable giving. The Solbergs’ efforts resonate strongly in Northern Wisconsin, where they operate five grocery stores under the Trig’s banner.

“Trig & Tula have built a legacy that all of our communities will benefit from in the future as
our teams involve themselves, fundraise, and interact with
various organizations to stand by our core value of giving back to our communities.”
Bob Jaskolski, President and CEO of T.A. Solberg Co., Inc.

Since 1971, Trig’s has prioritized community well-being, concentrating efforts on fighting food insecurity, enhancing education, providing healthcare access, conservation, and supporting military veterans. “We are proud to be able to give back to the communities that helped us grow, and that we will be able to continue to do so in the future,” said Trig Solberg.

In the past year alone, Trig’s contributions included substantial donations to food banks, scholarship funding for local schools, expanding remote healthcare access, purchasing AED devices for youth camps, providing safety equipment for emergency services, and supporting veterans’ groups.

Beyond financial contributions, Trig’s fosters an empowering culture for its associates to engage in volunteer activities, from working in food pantries to supporting local causes and urgent community needs. Trig’s employees frequently host holiday meals, work with veterans’ groups, and rally behind critical community efforts.

“Helping others in the Northwoods always be successful; that is important to me,” said Trig Solberg.

Bob Jaskolski, President and CEO of T.A. Solberg Co., Inc., echoed these sentiments: “Being part of and leading this organization is an honor. Trig & Tula have built a legacy that all of our communities will benefit from in the future as our teams involve themselves, fundraise, and interact with various organizations to stand by our core value of giving back to our communities.”

Trig’s, owned by the T.A. Solberg Co., boasts locations in Eagle River, Rhinelander, Minocqua, Tomahawk, and Manitowish Waters.
