Reader expresses support for School District of Rhinelander referendum
To the Editor:
As both a foster father to up to five children and a teacher in the School District of Rhinelander, I have witnessed firsthand the profound impact our schools have on students’ lives. The district’s commitment to providing resources, opportunities, and a supportive environment has been invaluable — not just to my family, but to the entire community.
My foster children have directly benefited from the programs and support offered by SDR. The welcoming environment, caring educators, and diverse extracurricular activities have provided them with a sense of belonging and stability that is truly life-changing. For children who have faced hardships, having a safe place where their academic, social, and emotional needs are met can help rewrite their futures.
From dedicated teachers who nurture students’ growth to sports and extracurricular programs that foster confidence and connection, SDR goes above and beyond to ensure that every child has the opportunity to succeed. While no school district is perfect, I see every day how much SDR genuinely cares about all kids.
I want the children in my home — and every child in our community — to receive the best possible educational experience. Rhinelander has thrived because of our investment in education, and I believe we must continue this momentum. That’s why I urge our community to support the upcoming referendum. By voting in favor, we can ensure that Rhinelander continues to equip its students with the tools they need for success.
Let’s invest in our children, our schools, and our future.
