Oneida County DAV van drivers needed
The Oneida County DAV van is a free service that takes veterans who live in any county to the VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain, Mich. The route originates in Rhinelander and travels the “northern route” via Lake Tomahawk, Woodruff, Arbor Vitae, St. Germain and Eagle River on Monday and Tuesday and the “eastern route” via Monico, Crandon, Laona, Cavour and Armstrong Creek on Wednesday and Thursday.
The van is coordinated out of the Oneida County Veterans Service Office and the drivers are unpaid volunteers. On average, a driver will drive one day per month and the average day is about seven hours. It’s because of our selfless drivers this free service can be offered to our veterans. If you are interested in being a volunteer driver, please contact the Veterans Service Office at 715-369-6127.
