Fish fry to benefit family

St Albert the Great Catholic Church, Land O’ Lakes, has announced the 2025 Fish Fry date and benefactor. After a short Covid hiatus this benevolent event successfully returned in 2024, organizers said in a press release. This 2025 event is expected to be bigger than ever.

The 2025 St. Albert Fish Fry is for the benefit of the Chris Hunt Family. Chris is a young man struggling with a health setback that has perplexed medical teams. First a little history on this young man and his family.

Lisa Hunt is a single mother of Chris and sister Hannah. They moved from Racine to the north woods of Wisconsin in 2013 and finally settled in Land O’ Lakes in 2019. Lisa Hunt, a devoted mother, was a nursing student, worked part time and has held volunteer positions. Currently, Chris Hunt is a high school senior. He enjoyed schoolwork, martial arts, weightlifting and part time jobs. He is active in church youth activities. His sister Hannah Hunt is in middle school, also a great student. She enjoys softball and equestrian activities. 

This family’s life changed one cold January morning in 2024. Chris awoke with a violent headache that persisted for four months, he was unable to stand and eventually required a wheelchair. The immediate search for healing started locally, then to Marshfield, then Green Bay and now to Madison. An exact diagnosis has perplexed the medical staff. At times, they provide modest relief for Chris but then his condition falters. The new doctors in Madison are hopeful they will find an accurate diagnosis and offer long-term rehabilitation for Chris. It has been a frustrating year for this young family! In the last year Lisa curtailed her nursing studies and her job to provide 100 percent of her time for Chris’ needs and frequent trips to Madison. Regrettably, not all expenses are reimbursed by insurance. Medical and travel/lodging expenses are mounting. We are prayerful that the St Albert Fish Fry provides financial relief, and Lisa can focus her energies on being a mother! Please keep this family in your prayers. Prayers that the medical teams can find a path to recovery and that this family’s financial burden be eased. 

This early spring event will be Friday April 11 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Ticket prices will be $18 for adults, $12 for children aged 6 to 12 and children under six years old are free.

Tickets will be available at the door on April 11. 

“This event historically attracts donations from people not able to attend but would like to support this young man and his family,” the release states.” We graciously accept donations on behalf of the family. Checks should made out to St. Albert’s should clearly state “St. Albert Fish Fry” in the memo line.”
