RHS Sports recap: Monday, Feb. 24


Boys’ basketball: Rhinelander 65, Merrill 46


The Rhinelander High School boys’ basketball team used a late first-half run Monday night to take control and rolled past Merrill 65-46 in non conference play at the Jim Miazga Community Gymnasium.


Rhinelander closed the half on a 19-2 run over the final nine-plus minutes to turn a seven-point deficit into a 10-point lead at the break. The Hodags stretched the lead to as many as 24 points in the second half.


Devon Feck scored a season-high 22 points for Rhinelander while Truman Lamers added 17. Kory Page scored 14 to lead three Bluejays in double figures. 


Rhinelander (17-5, 9-2 Great Northern) travels to Medford Thursday night with the winner earning the Great Northern Conference title.
