Dumar posted a time of 36.32 seconds in the event, tying for second place out of 56 athletes. The RHS/Northland Pines boys’ snowboard team finished in the middle of the pack, coming home sixth in the 10-team field at state. Marshal Durkee took eighth overall for the Hodags while Dumar, buoyed by his boardercross run, came home ninth. Kamden Kostrova placed 24th and Owen Sarkauskas was 39th.
Sydney Sarkauskas, the lone girls’ boarder on the squad, placed in the top 15 in all three events to take 11th overall. The Hodag boys’ and girls’ ski teams hit the slopes Sunday and Monday for their portion of the state meet. Look for a full recap of the Hodags’ state weekend in Friday’s River News.
