Hodag powerlifters host meet

The Rhinelander High School powerlifting club hosted a meet Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Jim Miazga Community Gymnasium. Both the Hodag boys and girls took first place in the team standings. The Hodag boys finished their regular season undefeated.

Individually, the Hodags had a number of podium finishes. An asterisk next to an athlete’s name denotes qualification for Wisconsin High School Powerlifting Association state meet:

The Rhinelander Basketball Association’s seventh-grade black team won its bracket in a four-team tournament in Medford Saturday, Feb. 8. Rhinelander beat Medford, Wisconsin Rapids Red 41-38 and Wausau East White 54-22 in the final game. The Hodags traveled to Edgar on Saturday for their final tournament of the GNBL season. The RBA sixth graders won their pool, while the Hodag fifth graders took second.
