Michael John Perry, age 77, of Rhinelander, died on January 30, 2025, at the Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital. He was born on February 9, 1947, in Rhinelander, the son of Kenneth and Dorothy (Lindner) Perry.
He attended schools in the area and graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1965. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served in Vietnam. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Rhinelander.
On April 1, 1978, Michael married the former Janice Roche and they shared over 46 wonderful years together.
Michael was employed by the Rhinelander Paper Mill for many years and worked there until his retirement in 2012. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was a longtime member and Past Commander of the Ray Rousseau VFW Post #3143 in Rhinelander. He also served on the local Honor Guard honoring his fellow veterans for many years.
Michael is survived by his wife Janice, his sisters Pamela Fleischman, Debra Lutsow, Anita Perry, and Lisa (Jeff) Javenkowski, his brother Jeffrey (Jeanette) Perry, his stepsister Judith (Bernard) Durkee-Peter, other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers Steven Perry and Daniel Perry.
Visitation for Mike will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025 from 10 a.m. to noon, with funeral services following at noon, all at the Carlson Funeral Home. The Reverend Mark Klaisner will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Northland Memorial Park Cemetery. You may leave your private condolences for the Perry family at www.carlsonfh.com.
