RHS Key Club, National Honor Society support local families and food pantry
The School District of Rhinelander is proud to recognize the outstanding efforts of the Rhinelander High School (RHS) Key Club, in partnership with the RHS National Honor Society (NHS), for their recent work supporting families in need and the Rhinelander Food Pantry.
Through fundraising and food collection efforts, the RHS Key Club raised over $2,700 to support the Hodag Monster Meals Program at the Rhinelander Food Pantry. In addition, students collected hundreds of food donations, including canned and boxed items, to help stock the pantry and ensure continued support for local families.
Beyond the financial and food contributions, members of the Key Club and National Honor Society — working alongside School District of Rhinelander staff — organized and generated enough food donations to support 29 families over the Holiday break, helping to ensure families in our community had access to meals during a critical time.
“This work reflects the heart of our students and the strong culture of service in the School District of Rhinelander,” said Eric Burke, superintendent. “The commitment shown by our Key Club and National Honor Society students, with the support of our staff, demonstrates what is possible when schools and the community work together to care for others.”
Lexi Radtke, RHS Key Club Advisor, added, “I am incredibly proud of our students for their initiative and follow-through. They identified a need in our community and took meaningful action to make a real difference for families. Their compassion, leadership, and commitment to service are truly inspiring.”
The Hodag Monster Meals Program plays an important role in addressing food insecurity in the Rhinelander area by providing meals to families in need. The contributions from RHS students will directly support this mission and help ensure families have access to nutritious food.
