PHOTOS: The North Pole Vault

More than 20 pole vaulters gathered at the Hodag Dome Sunday, Dec. 21 for the inaugural North Pole Vault competition.

The Christmas-themed event featured T-Shirts and ornaments for the competitors and some athletes vaulting in holiday costumes. The majority of vaulters were from Rhinelander and Wausau but some travels as far as Lomira to take part in the event.

Tyler Gingerly of Marshfield won the men’s division with a vault of 13 feet while Jayme Wyss claimed the women’s division, clearing 11-0.
