ArtStart announces new board president and updated board leadership
ArtStart is pleased to announce a transition in board leadership. After seven years of dedicated service as board president, Sue Bessert is stepping down from the role. ArtStart extends deep gratitude for Sue’s vision, commitment, and steady leadership throughout her tenure.
Longtime board member and ArtStart advocate Craig Zarley has been elected as the new board president.
“I’m excited to share ArtStart’s cultural and community programs with more Northwoods residents,” said Zarley. “Our gallery exhibits, arts and health initiatives, and youth programming are just part of who we are and what we do. We want to be a driving force for community art and culture.”
In addition to the new presidency, ArtStart is pleased to announce updates to its board officer positions:
• Brittany Beyer, secretary.
• Jon Koch, treasurer.
• Tara Vandenberg, continuing as vice president.
ArtStart looks forward to this next chapter of leadership as the organization continues its mission to inspire, engage, and connect the community through the arts.
“As I step down from the presidency, I do so with confidence in ArtStart’s continued success and growth, knowing the organization is in capable hands,” Sue said at the final meeting of her being board president. “I am also delighted to share that I will be taking on a new position leading our capital campaign — an endeavor that holds great promise for ArtStart’s future. Thank you for the honor of serving as your president and for your unwavering support over these remarkable seven years.”
