SDR offers facility project update and sponsorship opportunity
The School District of Rhinelander is pleased to announce significant progress on the High School Facility Project, which is quickly approaching the 50% completion mark. This multi-phase project represents a major investment in the future of technical education for Rhinelander students and the broader community.
Phase I achieved
The first phase of construction has resulted in major upgrades to our technical education spaces:
• New automotive and marine facility.
The Dr. Lee Swank Wall of Honor will serve as a lasting tribute to those who have supported the district’s technological education upgrades. • New construction lab.
Fully functional, this lab supports light construction skills and serves as the staging area for the district’s Habitat House projects — giving students valuable real-world experience in home building.
Phase II construction begins June, completion expected August 2026
The next phase of improvements will support innovation, skills development, and career exploration through the creation of modern, purpose-built labs:
• Fab lab — A hub for digital fabrication, innovation, and design.
• Welding lab — A fully equipped space supporting a variety of high-quality welding training opportunities.
• Woods lab — A new lab dedicated to woodworking and carpentry education.
• Dr. Lee Swank Wall of Honor — A signature feature recognizing community members and organizations whose generosity makes these advancements possible.
